I am an art teacher at a Northern Ohio charter school for students who have a variety of learning disabilities. Including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, PTSD, trauma, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, etc. Our school is a special education program founded on the principle that any child can learn given the proper learning environment and tools. I teach 200 students at all grade levels (K-12). I absolutely love my job and my students!
Unfortunately, this year my school is telling me that there is no budget for the art classroom (or any other classroom).
That being said our only new supplies this school year have been purchased out of pocket. Your donation to my classroom is an investment in the future of creative minds.
My Project
I am looking to fund an art project for my special needs students where they get to paint their own skateboard decks! Most of my high schoolers are heavily interested in skateboarding and when I brought up the idea of this project in August they have been asking me about it ever since.
Our school has told us that there is no longer a budget at all for the art classroom.
This includes finances for all supplies so any new supplies have been purchased out of pocket. This specific project is unfortunately a bit too costly for me. That being said, I've told my students that I would do everything I can to make this project happen!
With your donation you would be supporting/supplying paint and decks for an extremely memorable, therapeutic, and fun project that these awesome kids will never forget and get to keep forever!
