My Students

In my previous school, students viewed the counseling office as a place they could go before they reported to class in the morning, a place to stop and signal using the 5 finger system to indicate how they were feeling before going to class. I would love to recreate this for my new students.

My students are motivated to learn and are interested in school.

They are a diverse group of students who are sometimes the only members in their families who speak English. My school is a vibrant, welcoming environment where families feel welcomed and I would like them to feel that way when visiting the counseling office. My goal is to prepare my students to be leaders in their school and community through student council, peer mediation, and safety patrol. Having a place to train them and keep their supplies in an organized fashion would be ideal.

My Project

I am requesting bean bags, a book shelf and an organizer. My goal is to empower students to be leaders in their school and community at large. The counseling office will be a place for me to train them to be members of the student council, peer mediators, and safety patrol. They would use the materials chosen to store and organize their materials. I will be working at a new school, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to bring those items with me.

The donations given will help me recreate a welcoming and organized environment for student leaders.

They will have a place to store and organize their materials. Students will also have a place to discuss their personal and academic issues in a safe and inviting environment.
