My Project

My 6:1:1 high school nonverbal students know the benefits of sensory learning in the classroom. Items such as stress balls, fidget toys, sensory lights, help our students to remain calm and regulated in the classroom environment. My students would like to promote wellness in other classes by supplying their peers with sensory materials.

Help my students make their community service project come to life by giving us the materials we need to deliver sensory items to every class in our school!

My students will sort the items by color or style into bins, and push the cart to each classroom. They will use their communication devices to ask their peers to choose a wellness item from the cart. Because my students have severely disabilities that limit their cognitive and communicative abilities, this will be a great way to get them involved in serving their school community.
