I am grateful to enter the profession of my dreams every day to work with a group of outstanding young individuals. Each of my students is unique and all add to the beautiful blend of people in our classroom. We work together as a team to learn through engagement in content and activities. We also support each other through everyday successes and failures.
Our class is comprised of students with extremely diverse backgrounds!
Some students are natives to the area and many have moved here from countries all around the world! Through daily practice and ongoing discussions, we continue to grow and succeed individually and as a whole.
My Project
All of my students show the desire to be strong readers! Giving them Scholastic News to read regularly helps them do just that! These engaging news magazines provide students with fourth grade level reading material. This also keeps them well-informed of what's going on in the real world!
When we get a new magazine issue, students are eager to dive right into their favorite article!
They better understand the stories by looking at other non-fiction text features like photographs, tables, charts, and surveys provided.
In addition to this outstanding reading resource, students are also able to access the Scholastic News online resources. This feature is included in the magazine subscription and gives students opportunities to watch videos, play games, and study vocabulary words from each issue! There are also adaptable tools for teachers to assist students who read above or below level. All around, this resource will allow our classroom to thrive!
