This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
This project would reach 50 nine- and ten-year-old students in two fourth grade classes at a public Spanish/English bilingual school.
We want to close the achievement gap for all of our students, but need the right materials to support their academic growth.
My students come from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds and represent the future of our country! Many of our students are English language learners or have special needs. They are all enthusiastic, dedicated scholars who will truly appreciate your donation to making their learning experience the best it can be!
Comprehension improves when you know what the words mean. Since comprehension is the ultimate goal of reading, you cannot overestimate the importance of vocabulary development. Vocabulary is to literacy what water is to fish.
An investment in my students' vocabulary development is an investment in their future success.
Your donation will make it possible for my students to access the Flocabulary learning platform every day. Flocabulary features differentiated vocabulary instruction and fun games that focus on building students' knowledge and use of new words through listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, your donation will enable my students to use headphones in the classroom -- so students sitting right next to each other will be able to interact with different software and online educational platforms that I have specifically chosen to address their needs.
You donate directly to the teacher or project you care about and see where every dollar you give goes.
