My Project

I teach fifth grade at an urban charter school in Michigan. My students are awesome and want to learn but are limited in technology for use in education. With efficient technology tools, my students will have even more opportunities to learn and grow and practice 21st-century skills.

In order to serve my students best, and to use the existing classroom technology in the most efficient ways, I would like to use a Targus presenter remote with a laser pointer, as well as a USB to HDMI adapter and a 2-way HDMI splitter.

These tools will help me teach more efficiently by using and manipulating classroom technology, such as our document camera and ELMO projector, from anywhere in the room.

With the Targus presenter remote, I can project instructional slides or video content on the whiteboard through our projector, and switch these slides, edit content, or make notations on the screen live during teaching without needing to sit at my computer. I can walk through the room, get student input and feedback, and truly judge how my students are interacting with the content.

The USB to HDMI adapter and 2-way HDMI splitter will ensure that our classroom computer can run multiple tech tools at once. Most often, the tools we like to use together are the document camera and the projector. This splitter and this adapter would also allow me to utilize a second screen when teaching virtually.

My students are excited to learn and I just want to make sure I have everything I can in order to make their classroom tech experience as approachable and efficient as possible.
