My Project

My students are an amazing group of motivated young people fighting the odds every day just to get to school. Transportation alone is a major hurdle. Many of my students have to take multiple buses to get to school. Many more have to assist younger siblings in getting to school before they start their own journey to the high school campus. As someone who grew up in the inner city, I know challenges like these can seem unsurmountable, but they face them daily with grit and resiliency.

Making sure my students' basic needs are met through the Care Closet when they are in the classroom ensures that they are able to reach their full academic potential and their future goals.

Unfortunately, schools do not have adequate funding to provide these necessary items and teachers are left to fund them independently. Your assistance in helping fund some of the necessities for our classroom Care Closet is appreciated more than words can say.
