Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an English teacher, I have always tried to pass along my passion for reading to my students. I do this by offering books that are not only age appropriate, but also retellings, as well as visually appealing classics that awaken their interest and immerse them in fictional worlds which could also help them become creative writers themselves down the road.

I am looking to continuously grow my classroom library with books that invite and encourage students to not only read more but also become better critical thinkers and writers.

I use many of the books in my classroom library during curriculum-based lessons as examples/alternatives to core readings, giving students a different perspective throughout the experience.
