My Students

My students are diverse in every way and they deserve the ability to work with technology on a daily basis! They live in Brooklyn, NY and are in the 7th grade. Some of them have computers at home, but not all. Some of them are comfortable using computers, but not all.

Approximately half of my students are English Language Learners with mixed abilities in Mathematics.

I teach them 7th grade Math, and would love to enhance the curriculum by using lots of different online games and activities. I also would like to be able to easily differentiate the instruction, and using software would help tremendously.

We have access to laptops in my school, but currently we can only use a class set of laptops for one class period each week. I would like to do more for my students!

My Project

Having Chromebook's to use in the classroom will enable my students to not just work with pencil and paper in Math class, but play fun and interactive games. There are many free and educational games and activities online that reinforce the 7th grade Math curriculum, and I would like my students to be able to use them!

We currently do a lot of group work and use stations.

I would love for some of these stations to be "games" online using the Chromebook's! Students would be more engaged and would be able to work at their own pace. Some of the online programs differentiate, so students would be given appropriate questions based on their skill level. What a great way to enhance the Math class!
