My Students

This will be my fourth year of teaching fifth grade and, yet again, I am so excited! One of my favorite aspects of teaching fifth grade is the deep and meaningful conversations we can have as a classroom community. Whether we are talking about issues that have happened at home, or a main character going through struggles in a novel, these students are able to have compassion and empathy for others. With all of the recent events happening in the world, I know that my students will be ecstatic to get back in the classroom after more than a year of learning at home!

My vision this year is to promote problem solving, kindness, compassion, bravery, and courage in the classroom.

I will be promoting these concepts through the novels we read, as well as through classroom discussion and reflection.

My Project

Basic school supplies are essential in ensuring that students are prepared for success. These basic supplies help them to stay organized, learn the importance of responsibility, and complete every day classroom tasks. With the use of these materials I will be able to make sure that all students' classwork and homework is organized neatly in folders. I'll also be able to make sure that they have notebooks available for note taking and writing as well as lead engaging lessons on the whiteboard in small groups!

With the majority of my students coming from low socio-economic backgrounds, many of them are unable to provide themselves with these materials.

Your donations will help them to feel comfortable and prepared in the classroom, especially with it being their first year back in the classroom after the shut down of schools. For many of these students, school is a safe haven. Please help me to make sure that all of my students are equipped and ready to get back to their safe haven and have an outstanding 5th grade year!
