Students Conducting Authentic Neuroscience Research!

Please help me give my students BrainBit Headbands that will allow them to conduct authentic neuroscience research using an EEG device!

My Project

Students at our high school engage in their own independent science research during their junior year. The students dedicate many hours a week to carrying out their own experiments. The idea is that they will compete in science competitions in their senior year.

A large percentage of these students go on to study STEM in college as a result of this formative experience of conducting independent experiments over two years in high school.

Students who conduct independent scientific research in their junior year find a lot of satisfaction in seeing an experiment from start to finish. They start with a procedure and background research and then carry out the experiment and draw conclusions.

Some examples of projects students will be undertaking with the EEG headsets include studying the effect of friendship on brainwaves as well as studying the effect of virtual reality on the brain of subjects!
