Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students of P.S. 60 are a very diverse group. Many are new to the English language. They do share a love of learning and enjoy hands-on STEM activities. Students with no English language can participate fully in construction of STEM challenges and feel successful.

STEM challenges allow all students to feel productive.

Classe are composed of students with varied abilities. STEM provides opportunities for all students to be included in team projects.

Students look forward to having STEM classes.

My Project

These materials make learning enjoyable and beneficial. Students will be provided the experience to use skills that professionals in STEM careers use.

Exposure to STEM is important in early childhood.

These materials provide that exposure in a fun and educational way.

Young children without access to daily use of computers will be provided with the fundamentals to computer coding. Coding is a new type of literacy that helps to organize thinking and express ideas. They can build on these coding skills as they move up in grades in school. As computers become a more integral part of our daily lives, coding will become as important as reading.
