Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my Physical Education class I love teaching my students non-traditional sports. It allows them to learn basic physical skills in a fun way. Gaga Ball is one of those non-traditional sports growing in popularity.

Gaga Ball is definitely a fun and fasted paced sport all students should have the opportunity to play.

Gaga Ball is played in an octagonal shaped "pit". The game combines dodging, striking, jumping, running and critical thinking skills. The students need to keep moving to avoid getting hit by a foam ball.

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are for these baby play yard gates. By using these baby play yard gates it will allow me to be more flexible in teaching this activity inside or outside. It will also allow me to modify the size of the "pit" based on the amount of students I have in my class. Lastly, they are compact and easy to store.
