Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

After learning about artists and activists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, Ernest Shaw, and many others, students need supplies to combine their research of African American people, places, and events, with skills of typography, street art, and activism. Paint pens enable students to draw with paint on canvas, mimicking graffiti art while respecting public spaces. Students will also use the poster board to create stencils to include in their artwork. Our culminating experience will be a field trip to Baltimore's Graffiti Alley with face masks to experiment with spray paint. Thank you for empowering our students.
