This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi there! I work in a k-3 special education classroom as an SAI teacher! This project will help stock our classrooms student store.

A student store is a great behavior management system.

I believe in positive reinforcement when it comes to my students. Students work their best when they are working towards a goal. My students should be rewarded for all the hard work they do. A student store is also a good way to teach the youngsters about financial responsibility in a simpler way.

My students earn dojo points each day. At the end of the week on Friday, we add up their points from the week and they are able to use those points and “buy” the items on this list from the student store. Each item will be worth a different amount of dojo points. Students will be given the option to spend some or save their dojo points until the end of each month. At the end of the month I will add all students points together (if they want to) and they will get to choose from the classroom items! Such as a pizza party or ice cream!
