My Students

Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, my students constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their ability to learn.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Some have and some do not. It is my job to level the playing field so that all have a chance to be successful. Through hands-on, exciting and active assessment, all students in my second grade, inner-city classroom prove themselves time and time again.

My Project

The past few years I have been able to transform my classroom from a traditional setting to an exciting, hands-on learning lab. Thanks to generous donors here at donorschoose.org I have received funding to create a 1:1 lab in my room. Students are using iPads and laptops throughout the day. The next step in this transformation is to provide them with access to a print station so their collages, pictures, Word documents, etc can be printed and displayed around the building and sent home for parents. I have already received a printer and printer desk. Now I am requesting printer ink to keep the station fully stocked throughout the year. Students will learn to change the ink, load paper, etc. The station will be completely run by students. Thanks in advance for your help with this project!
