My Students

When you ask teachers to describe their students, we will all sing their praises. My classroom consists of 20 amazingly gifted scholars all different in temperament and personalities with only one thing in common: inner city children whose opportunities for learning and advancing is cut short due to economic situations.

Each day my scholars arrive at school eager to learn.

I am proud to say that they take the little that is given to them and make the very best of it.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting Meridian Primary School Planners to help develop organizational skills and responsibility at an early age. The purpose of the planners is for my scholars to write down each day their homework assignments. Students often forget which assignments are due for the next day and I believe the planners will eliminate the forgetfulness. The Meridian Primary School includes 112 pages of full color weekly calendar pages. There are assigned spaces for each subject area. It provides educational resource pages including the alphabet, numbers, math, color, shapes and science. In addition to the great organization the planner offers, it also provides a section for communication with the parents. I found that the key to a great school year is to establish seamless lines of communication. Parents will have the ability to check their child’s planner nightly to ensure all the homework assignments are completed.
