Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

5th grade is a wonderful time for our boys and girls to begin developing their good characteristics before they transition to middle school, where they'll face peer pressure and new academic challenges. Students attending our school live in a low income area and are limited in owning technology or enrichment activities at home. Technology is a necessity for school their families simply cannot afford.

Students are excited to challenge their curiosity as they participate in hands on projects with technology.

My 5th grade students' eyes light up as they started to create presentations online this month. They have gained confidence in their school work and self esteem as they become good at something in class. I can't wait to see how far they'll go at the end of the year!

My Project

With the Chromebooks students can research and complete projects. They will learn to maneuver Google Suite where they'll create presentations on Google slides. Thanks to the Chromebooks, students will have access to the Internet where they can tour colleges, look at museum galleries and learn about other countries and places. They can research and take notes for their monthly report! Most importantly they can participate in Google Forms to give me feedback or communicate a bullying problem they may face and are to scared to tell me in person. The headphones will help them focus when they work independently on their research and other online learning. Especially if they are watching a science video or reviewing a math concept online!

Technology will help students brighten their future by nurturing their curiosity and helping them practice important skills they will use this year and in many to come!
