My Project

This project matters because many students struggle to concentrate due to classroom noise, which can be overwhelming, especially for those with ADHD, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities. Some students with IEP accommodations require a quieter environment to process information and complete tasks effectively. However, in a classroom setting, eliminating noise is impossible, leading to frustration and disengagement.

Noise-canceling headphones will help these students regulate their emotions and focus better.

For students with ADHD, reducing distractions will improve their ability to stay on task. Those with anxiety will benefit from a quieter, calming space. Additionally, these headphones will support students who use mindfulness and breathing apps to manage stress. Providing these tools will create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Students will use the headphones during independent work, assessments, and stress management activities. Those with IEP accommodations or sensory needs will have priority access. The headphones will also be integrated with apps like Breathe2Relax for guided breathing exercises.

To ensure responsible use, students will sign them out, and they will be securely stored when not in use. Clear expectations will be set to ensure they are used as learning tools.

This project will increase student focus, engagement, and confidence. It will help reduce stress and distractions, creating a more inclusive learning environment where all students, regardless of challenges, can succeed.
