Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

When you think about students who have a strong desire to be the best, think about my students. They are inspiring individuals who come from places that aren't always ideal in Youngstown, OH. Adversity is the foundation of the life they stand on, but they persevere.

Our students struggle with poverty, homelessness, employment, transportation, and language barriers but in spite of all of this, they show up to school.

We are creating a Care Closet in collaboration with our students for students who are in need. These students may have been on the go and haven't eaten this morning or won't eat tonight. Our care closet has snacks to hold them over.
