My Project

When you think about students who have a strong desire to be the best, think about my students. They are inspiring individuals who come from places that aren't always ideal in Youngstown, OH. Adversity is the foundation of the life they stand on, but they persevere.

Our students struggle with poverty, homelessness, employment, transportation, and language barriers but in spite of all of this, they show up to school.

We have created a Care Closet in collaboration with our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for students who are in need. This project will specifically provide pads and tampons for our students. They should never be worried that they do not have what they need while they are at school.

Mrs. Pirone Horizon Science Academy - Youngstwn Grades 6-8

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
