This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Students

I teach a group of strong, passionate, eager diverse students that are so excited to begin their 3rd-grade learning experience.

I teach in a high-poverty section of New York located in the Bronx with very limited resources. 100% of our students qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students don't even have the resources to further their learning at home.

However, with a little creativity, each student helps one another in order to further challenge their thinking. Each of my students learns through many different learning styles. It is very important to have the right tools to accommodate and continuously meet their needs either visually, auditory, or with many hands-on activities/projects that will help each student to stimulate their minds and encourage their exploration of many new learning concepts. I want to do everything I can to further support my students to accomplish their academic goals and success in life.

My Project

This printer will help me print students' work in color in order to display their proud hard work on our classroom bulletin boards. In addition, a color printer will allow me to supplement my lesson with more engaging visuals, especially for my struggling students who need extra visuals and hands-on support. This color printer will also enable me to bring a variety of enrichment activities to my students during math and literacy centers.

Using this color printer would also allow me to keep in constant contact and communication with my parents by having documents prepared to send home that they may need such as our weekly class newsletter and homework.
