My Students
I teach a diverse range of students in a less traditional setting than what one imagines for public schools in Texas. My students are online learners who are looking for an educational structure that allows them to work at their own pace, while still receiving the support they need to meet their diverse needs.
My Project
Getting participation in live lessons and tutorials online is challenging. Students need the help but don't know that they need it and avoid contact that is not mandatory.
Creating an incentive program to reward engagement will help increase attendance which consequently will increase student growth and achievement; the most effective way to teach a student is to have them fully engaged and interacting with the lesson.
The engagement reward will be given to students who are consistently in attendance and actively engaged. Doing this will reward desired behaviors and entice other students to come and do the same.
