My Students

Do you have problems in organizing all your test papers, homework, classwork in just one big, bulky three-ring binder/folder that won't even fit inside your backpack and you have to carry it every single day in school?

99% of my 8th graders are Hispanic and 40% (70 out of 170 students) of my students scored proficient in the California Standardize Test (CST) last year.

They are currently learning Algebra 1 and looking forward to culminate and graduate from middle school this June of 2012.

My Project

I require my students to complete a portfolio that serves as their final project. It is a compilation of all their work (including test results, warm-ups, score sheets, homework, classwork, progress reports etc.) for future reference and record keeping. This summarizes their academic performance in my Algebra class and what they have learned from my class. If my project will be funded, my students can create their own portfolio electronically using the scanner. This will eliminate papers being misplaced, lost or damaged and at the same this will be an easier tool to pull out their work for review purposes by themselves, teachers or even their parents.

This project will help my students digitize, organize, and save their work electronically.

The students will be able to manage their academic life without so much piles of papers and be able to concentrate more of studying their lesson than cleaning up their unorganized binder.
