My Students

My students are smart, curious, fun-loving, creative, hardworking, helpful, and kind. My 17 students represent countries all over the world, as well as learning levels from kindergarten to fifth grade. Some of my students need daily intervention while others need daily enrichment.

My school consists of about 1,000 students of diverse backgrounds and diverse learning abilities.

We have a growing population of ELL students and students for which we implement interventions in reading and math, as well as students needing enrichment to acquire success for their educational needs.

Our school does not receive Title I funding; therefore, the technology that we have in our classroom is limited and has to be funded through other means. Our school has an amazing administration and staff who are dedicated to meet each of these diverse needs. The environment of our school is warm, nurturing, and respectful.

My Project

I hope to provide my students with the online platform Seesaw. Seesaw Plus is a student-driven portfolio that allows students to be creative, show their learning, and be assessed. Seesaw is very easy for young learners to navigate, and it offers them a way to share their learning with their teacher, their parents, and each other. They can complete assignments, be given feedback, and even fix their work when needed as the teacher can send the work back to a student.

Seesaw Plus allows students to document their learning as they add photos, videos, drawings, notes, and more to their online journal.

It can provide meaningful instruction for every learner if they are in the classroom or learning from home. I am teaching in-person now but we fully expect to transition over to at home learning sometime during this year. Please help me make this transition easier and make virtual learning fun, engaging, and successful for all of my students.
