Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My 6th grade general music students have varied interests, abilities, and backgrounds that they bring to our class. Even with these differences, they are excited to try new things and expand on what they already know!
At our school, we we believe every one can and will succeed in growing as a scholar, leader, citizen, and learner.
Our students embody that philosophy through hands on learning in many different fashions, creating a team atmosphere in the music room. They are heard creating and performing throughout the halls, and their music brings a smile to whoever hears it!
My Project
These ukuleles will allow my students to use what they have learned in a new way. General music students learn how to read and write music, and compose a song at the end of the semester. So far, they will not be able to perform their compositions as we do not have instruments they can learn.
With these ukuleles, students will have ownership of their creative process, and will hear a live performance of what they have created!
Performing their own piece of music will take this project to the next level, and inspire these students to continue to create and perform once they leave the music room.
