I teach struggling readers at a high school level. These are students that haven't had access to many books in their childhood, hate to read (haven't found the right book), or they have a reading disability.
My goal is for my students to find just one book they love causing a ripple effect so they become life-long readers.
My Project
I teach struggling readers at a high school level. Some of these students struggle because they have never had access to books in their homes and some of them struggle because they have a specific reading difficulty. However, none of them enjoy reading.
My goal is to provide my students with books that they will not want to put down.
I believe that once one finds a book that they truly enjoy, it makes all the other reading we have to do in life feel a little less like a chore.
