Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is a school wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative. Recently SEL has been a focus in schools, especially since COVID hit the scene. However, the reality is that we have known the importance of nurturing that component of kids lives for some time. We also know that by focusing on this, students will also benefit in their academics as well.

Incorporating the printer in lessons will definitely enhance the students learning and engagement.

Some of the units that students learn In Social Emotional Learning are about their emotions and how to manage them, how they can get along with one another better, and how to appreciate our diversity and one another’s perspectives.

During these lessons, students can capture those moments using a school iPad to snap a picture and then use the printer. Those pics will be displayed in class and school bulletin boards, projects, class dojo, or students can take them home to share with their families. I go into different classes from 3K-5th grade, so the size of this printer makes it convenient to carry along. I have used photo printers in the past for this purpose, and I find its use to be extremely beneficial…. and the kids love it!
