My Students

My goal as an educator is to bring out the love of reading to my students and to take them to far away places by using their imagination.

My students have very little at home.

My school and classroom are designed to make every student feel comfortable, safe and ready to build a future. I try my best to show my students experiences that I have personally done as well as show them as much as possible. I state over and over to my students that we are a family. I do this so that my students feel that they are loved and that people care about them. By doing this, my students have a reason to work hard and to try their best.

My Project

With these books my students will be able to read independently. I need books that they are interested in as well at their reading level. Students tend to pick books that are advanced for them because they are interesting but they can not read them. These books would be wonderful for Silent Reading as well as take home projects. Most of my students have zero resources at home so these books would be wonderful for them to enjoy as well as complete assignments.

This donation would improve my classroom by allowing my students to grow as readers.

I teach my students that reading is a magical skill that no one can take from you. I tell them that sometimes you can not go to far away places but a book can take you any where you want. Also these books will build my students' confidence in their reading skills. My students shy away from reading because they know that they are not strong readers. These books can help defer this habit.
