This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine increasing the success of minority students in science and technology?

I teach four periods of science to 83 students which are fifth graders in a Title I urban elementary school.

My students are energetic and eager to learn. Besides being amazing, they are at an age where they are curious about everything. These students range from gifted to special needs. Many of them are kinetic and visual learners, which means hands on learning is a must. Most of my 83 students do not have access to technology at home, so their only means of exposure to technology is at school. They are always eager to learn and come up with new projects they want to explore.

My Project

With the aid of this funding my students will be able to add technology to their everyday learning. Having a laptop means that my students will be able to access online videos, watch educational podcasts, take virtual field trips, complete online labs, research projects and experiments. Besides asking for a laptop, I am asking for arts and craft supplies to create an active and engaging learning environment as well as student thermometers in order to perform experiments.

Please help my students have the supplies that they need to create fun and exciting projects.

All of the students in my class would greatly benefit from these resources. With your help, your generous donations will greatly impact them in so many different ways. It is so reassuring to know people support teachers and that the supplies my students greatly need can be put into their hands to better their future.
