My Project

My students will be studying the California Gold Rush as a part of their social studies curriculum. We will be taking a hands on inquiry based approach to learning. The kids will read an interactive, choose your own ending book about traveling to California to strike it rich in 1849. As part of our learning experience we will be panning for gold. We have gold mining pans, screens, scoops and magnifying glasses. All we need now is the gold! Donations to this project will enable my students to have a the full experience and understanding of just how hard it really was to Strike it rich!
