My Project
Many of my students struggle with emotional regulation. They, at times, have difficulty managing stress and also with ignoring distractions. This can make teaching and learning a challenge as, when one student is having an off day, it sets off a chain reaction in the classroom. One of the strategies students have been learning to manage stress is to squeeze a stress ball. Squeezing the ball activates muscles in the hand and wrist, and releasing the grip allows the muscles to relax.
The repeated pattern of grip and release produced from stress balls helps to alleviate tension and stress, and it is an activity the students can do at their desks without disturbing anyone working or studying around them.
This allows peers to concentrate on their work without increased distraction.
Please help provide these useful tools to the students in my class so that they may use them in school and also take them home to use, as needed, on their long commutes and in their households.
