This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are requesting these items to help our students continue to strengthen their skills in reading and mathematics. These resources will build upon their fundamental skills, develop critical thinking abilities, and guide them to apply these skills to solve complex problems across various contexts. In our classroom, which consists of students with special needs, we use various materials for whole group, small group and individual learning. Having a wide variety of reading and math supplies is important because it allows for diverse learning styles and promotes engagement.

Technology is a major focus for the diverse learners in our classroom.

However, the math and reading workbooks will provide our students with more hands-on materials, as well as reach our learners who are not strong with technology. The file folder games will provide a structured and engaging way to practice specific skills like matching, sorting, or identifying objects. These activities are a great resource for independent learning. Our students enjoy making all different types of creations out of model magic clay. They especially love mixing the colors together to create new ones. Model magic not only brings out their creativity, it also assists in strengthening their fine motor skills while they manipulate, shape and mold the clay.
