My Students

I teach a group of Kindergarten students in Camden, NJ. Teaching in a low-income area shows me the challenges my students face in and out of the classroom every day. The students in my class need materials for more purposeful learning.

My students are learning foundational skills needed to be successful in their educations.

They are a group of high-energy, inquisitive students who are eager to learn about the world around them. They are enthusiastic about school and are always eager and ready to learn!

My Project

Providing my students with engaging stories will strengthen our literacy program. My students need these books to correlate with the themes of our curriculum. I will use these books to engage the students in the reading curriculum, and they will get daily exposure to new and exciting stories. The books are fiction and non-fiction, offering a wide range of learning opportunities.

This project will instill a love of reading with my Kindergarten students.

My students come from diverse and sometimes, underprivileged backgrounds so they need exposure to as many books as possible. These books will provide them with a window toward exploration of the world.
