Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am deeply inspired by my students’ curiosity, resilience, and willingness to grow, especially as they navigate the challenges of developing social-emotional skills. Many of my students thrive in a hands-on environment where they can express themselves through play, reflection, and teamwork. The resources I’m requesting—puzzles, Legos, and games—will provide a safe, engaging space for them to calm down, reflect, and build essential life skills. During advisory and lunch reflection times, we will use these materials to encourage students to collaborate, problem-solve, and process their emotions in a relaxed environment.

These items will foster creativity while helping students manage emotions in a positive, supportive way.

By offering opportunities for both structured and free play, we can enhance their emotional regulation, social connections, and critical thinking. My goal for this project is to create a calming, interactive environment that empowers students to develop social-emotional resilience and cope with challenges in healthy ways. What makes my students special is their unique ability to embrace challenges and their determination to support one another, which is why these resources will make such a meaningful impact on their growth and learning.
