My Project

Our daily 30 minutes of recess allows our students to get their bodies moving, blood flowing to their brains, and time to socialize with peers. Unfortunately, our students have not had new recess items in many years. Each classroom teacher has a bag of jump ropes and playground balls that need to be replenished.

While our younger students enjoy playing on the playground equipment, our older students enjoy engaging in group games such as kickball and soccer.

Having new soccer balls, kickballs, and basketballs will allow our students to join in collaborative games with students from across the grade level classes. We know that when our students are engaged in these activities they are building their social skills and activating their brains so they are ready to learn when they once again return to class.
