My Project

Students for my public health class are learning about car dependency in America and how it affects public health. My students are low-income kids in Brooklyn who have very little experience collecting data in the field. For this project, my students will collect data about the street they live on, like air quality and noise pollution from cars. They will then re-design the street to improve public safety. Finally, they will present their design to an official at the Department of Transportation to make their design a reality! These supplies will empower my students to collect real data that they can use when they meet with city officials.
