Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Pre-Kindergarten at a small, neighborhood school in Central Florida. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. We are growing our Pre-K program and will be starting our second year.

The majority of our students start Pre-K speaking only Spanish and need an authentic experience to foster a love of learning and an introduction to vocabulary in these subject areas.

Our students are like little sponges as they are ready and willing to participate in these new activities!

My Project

Our pre-k students love interacting in story time with fairytales! The Three Little Pigs Storytelling Set and Goldilocks and the Three Bears Storytelling Set will be sure to be favorites in our room!

Children love retelling stories with familiar text and the puppets will provide the support they need as they use their imaginations in our puppet theater!

Children practice language skills, cooperation and sharing as they retell these stories with puppets in a developmental way.

Pre-kindergarten is one of the first times many of our students engage in storytelling and by making it fun and meaningful we are able to help create a love for reading and books.
