My Students

I am lucky to teach Pre-K with 4 and 5-year olds! I work in a Title I school in Richmond, Va. My students are amazing!

I want my students to see themselves as explorers and creative thinkers!

This project is focused on giving them the tools they will benefit from in a virtual setting.

My Project

After a year of virtual teaching, I had to get creative and even used my cats to help make literacy concepts more fun as shown in the picture. This year I am excited to be In the classroom reading books with children! These character props will make story time more fun. They can be used during the story to help visual learners connect to the book. And these felt props can also be used after the story. They are a great way to talk about book’s the sequential order. They are also a fun way to check for comprehension and retention of a story in small groups and with individual students. This can also be used as examples for when we make our own puppets so students can retail and add on to the original story.
