My Students
My students absolutely love to read and listen to stories. We are active learners and love opportunities to work in groups. One such opportunity is during our literacy centers. The Listening Center is one of our most popular centers where students LOVE to listen to their favorite stories.
I am looking forward to working with a whole new group of students this fall.
I teach an ICT kindergarten classroom. We have a mix of general education students and special needs students. I love teaching ICT classes and watching how students work together to support each others learning and social/emotional development.
My Project
Students love literacy centers and especially the listening center. Students will listen to books in small groups. Not only will students have an opportunity to listen and learn about fluent reading, they will also learn how to hold book discussions after listening to a book. We will have some kindergarten favorites like Alice the Fairy and Biscuit.
It's so important to develop a love of reading.
We've got to start early in kindergarten by offering a variety of books in a variety of formats. I hope to foster a love of reading in my classroom by offering many opportunities to read in many formats (independent, small group, whole group, audio, visual, etc.).
