My Students

Due to the storm our students have been displaced from our school. We lost all of our reading materials and learning centers. We are currently housed in a middle school and unable to use there materials. It is a challenge working without centers and activities to further students learning.

Our students are the most caring first graders you could ever know.

Although they have been through the worse experience in there lives, they are still warm hearted and caring. They love to read, write and learn. Prior to the storm, our school was in a area of low income students that come to school everyday. On average my attendance for these students was 99%. We have high expectations for our students and it is our goal to get what they need to succeed.

My Project

These activities that I am requesting are the tools students will use to learn how to read books and write. They will learn how to retell a story, how to sequence and find the main idea in a story. These are the tools that we use in our school to teach students how to prepare for the state test. This is a way of teaching them how to learn in the early grade so when they get to the third and forth grade they with be prepared for anything that comes there way. They will use pictures and books to work as a small group helping each other learn.

These tools are what we need to let our students know that something bad happen but we will not let it define us.

We will learn from this experience and it will make us stronger. We will use these materials to make us successful learners
