This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that all my students have a unique capacity to feel emotions at deeper and sometimes scary (to them) levels but that also comes with high excitement and joy when they are happy. The high intensity of the emotions can make it hard to process and cope with these emotions when they arise. My students also struggle at times to relate to their peers and often feel misunderstood. Books and game-type activities are good ways to start conversations and teach important coping skills in a neutral way.
