My Students

A typical day in my 6th grade introduces the challenge of allowing them to socialize about content. In order for them to stick to the content, it must be highly engaging. That's where Storyworks magazine becomes our best friend!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds, yet they are all very typical pre-teens.

They are very energetic and love to socialize! My school is upbeat and encourages that energy to maintain engaging lessons. We read and discuss content as much as possible from bell to bell!

My Project

My students love the Storyworks subscription. They are able to practice state standards through age-specific content. Many of the texts come with access to videos so students learn to draw information from multiple sources. Storyworks offers students a variety of modern fiction and nonfiction stories.

This project will make a difference in the lives of a group of students who all have individualized needs.

The texts are differentiated so each student has the opportunity to participate at their own level. Students will remain engaged in the reading and learn to love it!
