My Students

My students are trying to meet the demands of reading, writing, speaking and listening in English to pursue an education beyond high school. Part of meeting these demands means that I have to supplement technology, resources and literature to help them meet these demands with the most up to date resources. My students have the heart, the motivation and the willingness to work hard to meet the demands. I just want them to be afforded all the resources to meet their learning style and learning needs.

My Project

These materials will make a big difference. Having a new place to organize books by genre and subject make the books more attractive, especially to struggling readers. Additionally, space n the classroom is at a premium. Having new shelves to have beneath the board in the front will call their attention to the books that normally are placed in the back of the room. It is as if the books are looking at them and calling their names. Research says that how the books are shelved makes an impact on what books a teen choses and helps facilitated better choices in a book that captures their interests.
