My Students

We are a large elementary school in Northern California. We have a very diverse population in our school. I have students whose families come from all over the world. In my class alone, we speak six different languages. What wonderful diversity! Being a transitional kindergarten class we do a lot of hands-on exploration and have a lot of firsts - first time to write our names, first time to count, first time to use scissors, first time to have any type of schooling.

My Project

Learning time is so valuable! In TK, established routines and procedures give us more learning time.

Currently, our Chromebooks are stored on a shelf.

The headphone cords get tangled, there is a risk of falling Chromebooks, and therefore it takes a long time for the children to get started. They also need assistance from an adult. One of my goals for TK students is to foster independence, which is not possible with my current system of Chromebook Storage.

With this docking station, Chromebooks would be stored safely and efficiently, so that my students can set them up themselves, and maximize their learning time. Ultimately, students will be able to set up their Chromebooks independently, and time will be saved, so that they have more time for academics!
