My Students

My students live in a low-income high-needs urban community, which I have loved serving for the past 17 years. We are a Title I school, where 100% of our students receive free lunch. Our school welcomes students from all over our city, who bring along a wealth of diversity to enrich our community. Our families, staff and students share a deep devotion to our school.

My students come from diverse backgrounds, and all arrive in my classroom eager to learn, to succeed, and feel safe and loved.

My goal as their teacher is to make sure these needs are met every day. I want to provide them with every opportunity afforded to others. Thank you for joining me!

My Project

Seat Sacks are a wonderful way to make the most of the limited space we have available in our classroom. My students can slip these durable pouches right on the back of their seat to keep many of their daily learning materials close at hand.

Keeping our materials close by will help us transition quickly and smoothly from one activity to the next, and will do wonders for cutting down on wasted time.

We'll be using our Seat Sacks to house journals and workbooks, as well as daily handwriting and quick response tools. Students can also keep self-monitoring aids like our Writing Checklist at their fingertips.
