My Students

Do you remember what it was like to get teased or bullied at school? My students are all too familiar with that feeling and it needs to stop now! My goal is to teach my students ways to combat bullying and to how to treat others in a positive way.

My students come from a small rural community in Utah where a high percentage of students are Hispanic.

Our school is a small elementary school where most of the students receive free or reduced lunch because of the high poverty level. My students are all eager to learn and deserve the same education as students who attend school in more affluent areas. My students are already facing the reality of living in a high poverty area that increases their susceptibility to stress, frustration, and peer pressure. This leads to an increase of bullying in school. My students need to know how to deal with being bullied and how to not become a bully.

My Project

The best way to combat bullying is to educate ALL students in what to do and how to seek help. The 4 copies of "Bullying in Schools" will help students gain the knowledge and strategies to deal with bullying appropriately. Students will engage in social skills and in-depth bully discussions. The curriculum kits and game will provide lessons that we can do weekly to help prevent bullying in our school.
