Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title One School in NY. Our students need all the support and experiences that they can get. Our students are kind, responsible, respectful, honest kids who want to change the world for the better. They're truly determined and passionate about innovative learning and I really want to give them this opportunity. They are makers by nature, and we need to foster their abilities with the necessary tools. Many of our kids do not have access to laptops or desktops at home, so there is no way for them to learn the necessary foundation using technology. The best part about them is that they are such philanthropists. Anyway they can give back, even with the little they have themselves, they give! We raise money for charities such as The March of Dimes, Breast Cancer Awareness, Pennies for Patients, NYC homeless shelters, and much more! Last year our school was listed on the top 25 schools who have donated the most to charity!

My Project

We are always looking for innovative ways to teach our students while engaging, inspiring, and having them own their learning. Stop motion videos allow all academic subject areas to be combined into one creative and personal piece for our students.

Some students got a taste for stop motion video making last school year, but we didn't have the proper materials to really make it work.

These iPod touchscreen devices will literally put the learning into their hands! They will write their scripts with elements of a story, design and decorate their sets, and determine proper fractions of seconds for flow!
