My Students

My students are fourth graders who have grown up in North Tulsa, Oklahoma. My students will work hard to develop multiple aspects of themselves because, we got GRIT, we don't quit! Students in my class show grit by work hard with task that are given because they want to complete it to the best of their ability. They believe that the things they are being taught in class are beneficial. They also use their personal future goals to motivate them to work hard on the task at hand because they see the connection between what they are doing in class and the things they want to achieve later in life.

My Project

My students need interactive math centers, including What's the Best Strategy? Problem Solving Centers, Math Big Book Favorites and 20 Write and Wipe Lapboards and erasers, to increase understanding of lesson topics. My class is doing their best to take responsibility of their own learning. Center Rotations give students an opportunity to engage with learning materials that will increase their understanding of grade level content. Past lesson objectives, as well as current lesson objectives are covered in math centers to give students enough time to explore and grasp grade level content with teacher and peer assistance when needed.

It is crucial for students to gain math fact fluency in fourth grade.

Center rotations will keep math facts and standard algorithms 'top of mind' for students in the class and also help them with other concepts being taught later in the school year as well as other later grades.
