My Students

Picture this, a classroom of 20 six-year-olds staring at you, eager to soak up any information being taught! They are excited and energetic, despite the fact that many of them come from families with very little. I want my students to have the best resources in front of them all the time!

My students are from a high poverty area of DC.

Teachers are dedicated to ensuring students have the best of what's around and students are excited to learn and grow. Every day I walk into school, I am greeted by the best-smiling six-year-olds around. It is my job to make sure I am doing everything I can to set them up for successful school careers that lead to the amazing lives that they want and deserve.

My Project

We are trying to have a classroom full of flexible seating. Stools are a great option for students who are uncomfortable in tractional chairs.

If we can get these stools for our classroom, students will have additional options for their comfort and learning!

They will be able to choose their seats each morning and this will lead to higher concentration during their learning throughout the day. As adults, we are not expected to sit in small plastic chairs, so I want the students to have the same opportunity that we all have!
